Welcome to Midlands Smile Centres' August newsletter. This month's issue contains: an Invisalign invisible braces offer, a tip for improving your chances at job interviews, tips for keeping your toothbrush clean and information on our practices' cross infection prevention.

Smiling for your Interview

Smiling for your Interview

Applying for a job and going for an interview can be daunting tasks, even more so when you're worrying about the appearance of your smile. Recent studies have shown that 38% of job applicants don't smile during their interview. Most career advisers consider this to be a big mistake.

However, smiling when you have missing or crooked teeth can be extremely difficult. This can severely affect your chances at having a successful interview. To help give to give you a bright, healthy and grabbing smile, Midlands Smile Centres offer a range of affordable treatments.

If you're looking to improve your smile, your dentist can recommend the best treatment for you. Whether it's dental implants, orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry, we're sure we can give you a brilliant smile.

Clean Toothbrush Tips

Your toothbrush is your main tool when it comes to keeping your mouth healthy. As such, it's important to look after it and make sure that it is kept clean. Here are 6 do's and don'ts for a clean toothbrush:

  • Don't share your toothbrush

Not only is this a bit gross, it can also cause problems as you are sharing bacteria.

  • Don't keep your toothbrush stored in a dark, closed space

Bacteria like to live in dark and moist conditions that don't have much circulation, so avoid storing your toothbrush in a container or cupboard.

  • Don't keep your toothbrush near the toilet

Keeping your toothbrush six feet away from your toilet is a generally good rule, due to airborne particles from flushing.

Clean Toothbrush Tips

  • Rinse your toothbrush after use

Thoroughly rinsing your toothbrush can remove any debris or bacteria left behind.

  • Make sure your toothbrush is dry when stored

This allows your toothbrush to dry out more, and not develop mold.

  • Replace your toothbrush

If you've been following us on social media, you should know about replacing your toothbrush regularly or if the bristles fray.

A clean and healthy toothbrush makes for a clean and healthy mouth. You can find more dental care tips by following us on social media.

Free Invisalign Consultations

We will be offering free Invisalign consultations during August. Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses braces that are both clear and removable. This makes it perfect for those who want to have straighter teeth, but don't like how traditional braces look.
